Why should I enroll in a workshop instead of watch a YouTube video or read a blog tutorial?
Because you want and deserve more. Our in-depth workshops are designed for those who feel they need a little extra help understanding how these multi-step song and sound projects work — you can ask questions and feel confident that you'll get help here! Our workshops are also great for those who enjoy learning from Jennifer's easy-to-understand, calm, and clear method of teaching. These are no-fluff, no-mess, no-distraction workshops ... it's like sitting down with Jennifer in her craft room to learn directly from her!
When are the live workshops? What if I can't make it? Do you have multiple dates and times?
If you can't make it then, no problem -- the live portion is recorded and you can watch and craft along with it any time, and you can always ask questions in the private workshop Facebook group! We only plan to air a workshop live once, primarily because we know the live part is fun but not the real meat and butter of the workshop.
How long are the live workshops?
They last for approximately two to three hours.
Where are the live workshops held?
They are broadcast in a special private Facebook group you get access to once you enroll in a given workshop. You can watch the workshops live, watch the recordings, or both! You do NOT need to attend the live workshops to learn how to create these projects the JenniferMaker way.
Do I have to have to use Facebook for this workshop?
No. All videos, workbooks, files, and resources are stored in the Workshop Area in our Teachable school system, which does not share a login with Facebook. However, you should note that the live airing of the workshop, Q&A session, and the craftalong ARE held in our private Facebook group, as Facebook is the only place we can broadcast our special dual-camera workshop live. We will upload the recorded videos of the live Q&A session and craftalong to the Workshop Area in Teachable so you can view and download these whenever you wish.
What materials do I need to make these projects?
Each workshop has different requirements, and a complete material list will be available upon registration! We try hard to use common materials that are easily obtainable, and substitutions are usually just fine (and if they are not, we'll let you know).
What equipment do I need to make these projects?
Along with an internet connection, you'll need:
- A way to cut your projects, such as a Cricut Explore, Cricut Maker, Cricut Joy, Silhouette Cameo, Brother Cut 'N' Scan, or even just scissors or a craft knife (with some patience) (I will show you how to do it with a Cricut in the workshop)
- A computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone
Will I be able to ask questions during the live workshops?
Yes! And you can also ask questions in the Facebook group at any time!
That date and time doesn't work for me for the workshop I want to take. Will you do another workshop?
There's no need, because you'll have access to everything, including the recorded live craftalong, so you can participate in a workshop at ANY TIME. You keep access for the lifetime of your workshop, and can revisit and redownload the videos and workbook whenever you wish. And you can always ask questions in the special private Facebook group for this workshop!

I am a student of your Cut Above SVG Design Course. Do I get access to the Maker Academy workshops for free?
No, the Maker Academy workshops focus on using design software, such as Cricut Design Space, not the more advanced illustration software I teach students to use in Cut Above.
