"I took Jennifer Maker’s Canva workshop. I learned so much from the start. I was excited to learn how to use Canva and by the time the workshop was over, I created my own business card through the program just based off of what Jennifer Maker taught on the workshop! I am thrilled that I can go back to the videos and check things out when I need to as there was a lot to learn. It was great to spend the day learning by a teacher who makes it so simple! Thank you Jennifer and team!"

Maker Academy Reviews

Got Questions? We've Got Answers!

What is AI art and what can it do for me?

AI art generation refers to the use of artificial intelligence to create new artwork. Using text that you input (also called a prompt), an AI art generator will take that text and create a brand-new, never before seen image in seconds. You can then add these images to your projects to make personalized amazing projects!

Isn't using AI Art stealing from other artists?

AI art-making models are a tool and it is completely within your power to use this tool ethically or unethically. I will teach you how to use this tool ethically in my workshop and you will not be generating any AI art that either steals or plagiarizes from any other artist. I will also teach you how to share your creations ethically as well. AI Art is new and already changing the future of art, but it's also here to stay and we need to adapt to this new tool and environment in the most ethical way possible. I can help you do this!

How do you teach the ethical use of AI art?

I believe in teaching the principles of axiomatic alignment in AI, and making sure that advanced AI systems act in accordance with ethical principles and objectives. I also support the GATO framework, which is a global, decentralized movement to advance the principles of axiomatic alignment in AI. The GATO framework empowers individuals to get involved in AI safety and alignment, and to harmonize AI with human values, for a positive future.

In this workshop, I will teach how to create prompts and generate artwork that is not based on or mimicking any one artist's work, and then how to share it transparently, as well as what to avoid doing with AI art, such as selling the digital designs. I'll also discuss using AI art generators trained on Adobe Stock images, openly licensed content, and public domain content during our ethics lesson. Please note that AI Art is an evolving field, and the idea of what is and is not ethical is evolving right alongside it, so I'm going to do our best to teach what I feel are the best practices, and those practices may change over time. I will not impose my personal morality on anyone, but I will give you the information I have so you can do what you feel is right as we move forward in this new medium.

I've heard that AI art has the potential to wipe out all original and human created art. Do you think this is true?

No, I don't think this is even remotely true. Having been online since 1991, before the general public had access to the web, I've seen a great deal of change in my professional career. This type of reactionary thinking is in response to rapid change and comes from a place of fear and scarcity, rather than a place of abundance. When Photoshop came out, many people thought it might mean the end of photography or original photos. This has not been even remotely the case. If anything, photography and image generation has exploded as a result. Photoshop is a tool, and there are always those who prefer to just take and make images in more traditional ways. This will be true of art going forward as well — there will always be those who prefer to create art in other ways, whether with a pen or brush in hand or with digital (non-AI) tools. AI art generators are nothing more than a tool that we can use to expand our creativity and output, to go further and do more.... just like nearly every other tool in the history of human culture. I believe in embracing these changes and learning to use the tools, rather than fear them, and I encourage you to do the same.

Why should I enroll in a workshop rather than watch a YouTube video or read a blog tutorial?

This in-depth workshop is designed for those who feel they need a little extra help understanding how to design, download, and create AI generated designs. You can ask questions and feel confident that you'll get help here! This workshop is also great for those who enjoy learning from Jennifer's easy-to-understand, calm, and clear method of teaching. This is a no-fluff, no-mess, no-distraction workshop ... it's like sitting down with Jennifer in her craft room to learn directly from her!

How long is the workshop?

The workshop is split into seven lesson videos that are approximately two hours in total — I teach you the software to make several custom designs, how to print the designs you make, and how to use those designed prints to make three projects. You can watch all or skip to just the parts that interest you. There's also a questions and answer section at the end of the workshop.

Is this a live workshop?

No. The information is all available to watch on-demand so you can pause, rewind, and go at your own pace.

Do I have to have to use Facebook for this workshop?

No. All videos, workbooks, files, and resources are available in the Workshop Area in our Teachable course system, which does not share a login with Facebook. However, you should note that the Facebook group is a great place to learn from others in the workshop.

What equipment do I need?

A computer or laptop to use a web browser so you can use Bing, CF Spark, and/or Midjourney (all browser-based software).

What software do I need?

For this workshop, you just need a free web browser, such as Google Chrome. You may also wish to use the free Adobe Acrobat Reader software to print PDF files, which I'll demonstrate in the workshop. You'll also use Bing, CF Spark, or Midjourney, which are all browser-based applications — you can use either the Bing free option, the CF Spark free trial option, or the Midjourney paid subscription (Jennifer will demonstrate and explain all three during the workshop).

What supplies do I need?

No supplies are needed if you just want to learn how to design. If you'd like to turn your designs into projects, Jennifer demonstrates how to make a Print Then Cut stickers, a sublimation mug, and a sublimation pillow with the AI generated designs. You can make one or all of these projects — a full supply list is available after you enroll to help you find items. Note that these projects will require a printer, either a color inkjet printer or a color sublimation printer.

Do you just teach AI art generation?

No, I'm also teaching you design principles as well as how to print and press the designs while making stickers, a mug, and a pillow using sublimation and Print Then Cut (inkjet) methods.

Will this workshop teach me to make SVG cut files?

No, this workshop focuses on using AI generated images and your own images uploaded to Adobe Acrobat (or your favorite program) to print.

Will this workshop teach me everything there is to know about AI art?

No, this workshop focuses on using three AI art generators—Bing, CF Spark, and Midjourney—to create AI art designs from prompts to use for sublimation and Print Then Cut designs only. You can use AI generated art for MANY other things, including social media images, logos, printables, and so much more, but those are not directly covered in this workshop.

I am new to sublimation and/or my Cricut cutting machine. Will this help?

Yes, because I'm including my Sublimation Startup and Cricut Kickoff mini-courses as bonuses for enrolling in the AI Art Design workshop. I recommend you do those first before you attend the workshop so it makes more sense to you!

Do I need a sublimation printer or a Cricut to take this workshop?

No, this workshop can be completed without any machine at all. If you wish to print out the designs you make, however, you'll want a sublimation printer (for sublimation projects) and/or an inkjet printer (for Print Then Cut projects). And if you wish to make the print-then-cut projects, you'll need a way to cut out your designs, such as a Cricut Explore or Cricut Maker (or another cutting machine that does Print Then Cut).

Can I sell the projects I make in this workshop?

Different AI art generators have different rules in regard to this, and we'll discuss it during the workshop. Generally speaking, as long as you stick to the Permitted Uses when you’re using their generated content, you can do it. Bing does not allow commercial use, but there is provision with CF Spark and Midjourney. Licensing and copyrights will be covered in this workshop, as will the ethics of profiting from AI-generated work so you can make the most informed decisions.

Is there a coupon for this workshop?

No, as this workshop is already discounted to be affordable without any coupons needed.

I got a VIP Pass from you. Is this included?

No, VIP Passes are sold for specific events, such as Maker Academy Weekend and other events with multiple sessions. VIP Passes include only the workshops presented during that one event, not workshops presented in any other event or presented individually. If you'd like to take this workshop, please register for it separately.

We have a 30-day happiness guarantee! If you are unsatisfied with your purchase, contact me within 30 days of your enrollment and I will give you a full refund. Please view my refund policy here for more details.

Yes! You can post in our Facebook group and/or email us directly!
